We're a team of marketers, strategists, creatives, and operators - brought together by a shared belief in doing great work and being great to work with.
While working with a range of franchise brands through our broader marketing work, we kept encountering the same core challenges: inconsistent marketing across locations, franchisees left to figure it out on their own, and national strategies that failed to create local impact.
So we built a better way.
Units was created to focus exclusively on the unique needs of franchise brands. It brings together everything we've learned about growing successful franchises - systematized, specialized, and delivered by a team that understands how to balance national brand strategy with local market execution.
Today, Units supports emerging and established franchisors with smart, scalable marketing systems that empower franchisees, protect brand integrity, and drive real growth - market by market.
Every agency talks about values. We've found it's more useful to talk about what working with us actually looks like, since that's what franchisors are really asking when they say "tell me about your team." Six things to expect:
If something in your strategy isn't working, we say so. If a campaign isn't worth running, we say so. If you're paying for software you don't need, we say so. We've learned franchise leadership prefers the harder conversation over the polite one, and we've built the team around that.
We meet your team in HubSpot, Slack, Asana, FranConnect, Google Workspace, or whatever else runs your operation. The goal is to integrate, not to add another login your team has to manage.
Strategy that ignores your FDD, your franchisee economics, or your discovery day process isn't strategy. We read the documents and ask the questions before we suggest changes.
Every project ends with documentation your team can reuse, retrain on, or hand off if anything changes. Strategy docs, SOPs, handoff files, account access, and post-mortems. The work doesn't disappear when the engagement ends.
Some projects need a specialist agency. Some need an in-house hire. Some need a different size of partner. When we're not the right fit, we say so and try to point you somewhere useful.
Most franchise marketing decisions affect 10, 50, or 200 small business owners who paid for the right to use the brand. We design programs and communications with them in mind, because the system only works when they're set up to win.
We're proud to be led by a team of thoughtful, experienced leaders who care deeply about the people they serve and the work they produce.
